Icario is in Montepulciano, in a corner of Tuscany bordering Umbria, and maintains its authentic nature and uncontaminated beauty. Montepulciano is a perfectly preserved town called the Pearl of the Renaissance. As a center for art, music and full of history, Montepulciano is also one of the oldest areas for winemaking. Icario stretches over 51 ha. 22 of these are vineyards in an amphitheater layout surrounding our winery, at an altitude of 450 m. Icario Villa Retreat is a place to restore the body and mind. Surrounded by spectacular scenery and lush nature, you can experience Tuscany without giving up such comforts. An infinity pool overlooking the vineyards, a personal vegetable garden, and a very high-level concierge service. We give everyone who loves good wine, wants to immerse themselves in nature and appreciates art and good company an expert and polite welcome. We offer our guests wine tastings, cellar tours, lunches and aperitifs with local products, as well as a beautiful B&B with a swimming pool that can be rented weekly. We will welcome you with kindness and competence, presenting our wines – the best expression of the Montepulciano area. In addition to Vino Nobile DOCG you will find Vino Nobile DOCG Riserva, Rosso di Montepulciano DOC and two outstanding IGT Toscana whose blends are unique in the Tuscany region.

It has a complex, subtle aroma and a generous, very harmonious and lingering flavour thanks to the steam distilling in a small copper stills and subsequent ageing for 12 months in French oak barriques. The renowned Berta distillery stands for highest quality, a feel for pleasure with “that certain something” and future-oriented, technical advancement. This high art of distilling produces an additional highlight from our pomace for our wine collection: the ICARIO Grappa. Enjoy the soft, nuanced and wholesome Grappa, which represents elegance as well as temperament.

A vibrant, fruity aroma with generous vegetal hints of artichokes and black pepper. This is ICARIO Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Produced from the 5 hectares and over 2500 olive trees, such as leccino, moraiolo, frantoio and correggiolo. We treat them with the same care, pursuit of quality and perfection that we dedicate to our wine. An excellent oil to enhance traditional Tuscan soups, grilled red meat, roast porcini mushrooms and mature cheeses.

Vitaroccia Riserva DOCG
Dark red color. Vanilla and raisin smell. Full and well rounded with medium tannins. Lots of oak, tobacco, dark fruits, long lasting aftertaste with some hints of mint. Wonderful.
